Question:

Scared of Certified Letter?

Today, my family recieved a certified letter. Unfortunately, I was the only one home and sleeping when they came so they had to keep a "receipt" at the house. It says we have to pick up the letter. It is not addressed personally to anyone and the "sender's name" line is left blank. My family really gets along with everyone and pays all taxes. Wouldnt the police just come to your house rather than send you a letter if it was serious? Overall, we are just scared because we get certified letters once in a blue moon and this really is our first experience. I heard they normally are not good news. We also don't have a lawyer that has been working with us within the past few years. What could this letter be? Thanks alot guys!

  1. Certified mail is sent to have a tracking route, and to be sure the letter is received. Also, many packages won't be left at the door, too many thieves. If you haven't done anything wrong then why worry? and the answer lies in reading the mail, so don't worry ahead of time, and see about resolving the situation if there is a problem,.

  2. The only way to find out is to read the letter. Sometimes it is good news. Do not assume that it is always bad news./
