Ok, am I totally crazy or what..... Some relatives of mine have a relative that died in their house, sitting in one of the chairs. This was two years ago but it totally freaks me out. Like just the thought of it..yikes. So like I keep wondering if they still have the chair he died in and do people actually still use it and all that. I can't ask about it of course, cause that would be horrible of me but I can't stop these thoughts. Am I totally nuts or is anyone else like this? what can I do to get over it?

  1. Yeah I was like that too in my Grandma's old house. She had a death story for pretty much every room in the house and some of the hallways...

But she once explained to me that I shouldn't be scared for two reasons.

    1. That loads of people had been born in the house as well, including my auntie, and that life came and went everywhere.

    2. They were all people who either loved me, or would have loved me if they'd met me. So any "spirits" or anything that could be there would be there to protect me, look after me, and protect me from anything bad out there

That made me feel less scared.

She told me that when I was sleeping in a room where lots of people had died, including in the bed I was sleeping in. I had imagined hearing noises under the bed. She told me that story and it reassured me so much.

I hope you can think of similar things in this house.

My Grandma also always thought of funerals as a "celebration of life" which was helpful in thinking about the dead- think positively about them rather than negatively.

    Good Luck.

  2. tell the truth i mean that's a bit creepy if you ask me.If they still have that thing in the house tell them the truth and say it bothers you and scares you a bit, sheesh why'd they even keep it? yuck!

  3. When my great grandmother died a few years back my parents got me and my sister out of bed and we drove to her house.  She had died in her sleep sitting in her recliner and I was scared to go in anywhere near where she died.

It had been some time since they had found her there (Like 3 or 4 hours) so when I walked into her house I figured she would have been gone and I expected the place to feel like it was haunted.

But she was still sitting in her recliner and it didn't scare me at all because she looked just like she was asleep.  She hadn't had a violent death at all and it just looked like she had slipped off peacefully.

After that her daughter, my grandma, took the chair to her house.  I've sat in that chair since Granny died, and so has the rest of my family.  It's just a chair.  When I go to grandma's house I never look at it and think "That's where Granny died".  In fact I don't even know which one it is anymore.

So basically, you should just realize that the person who died in it wasn't scary or possessed.  They most likely died peacefully and that's nothing to be scared of.  Maybe you should even sit in it.

  4. Yeh you probably are nuts.

You've sat in many chairs that people who have died have sat in.

    no biggie,

Keep your weird thoughts about it to yourself, and don't sit in that chair if it freaks you.

Your brain has some influences from situations that would be inappropriate to bring up in someone else's home.
