Scared on the court?

Every time I step onto the court to play a volleyball game i get nervous. This only happens if i start. When i sit for like the first rotation and then i go in i'm fine...I dont know how to get over this!

HELP!!!

It perfectly normal to feel a bit nervous at the start of the game...I think it is because there is nerves before the game starts and after the first point you forget about it and just focus about what is happening at the moment instead of worrying ahed to the start of the game...a lot of the time (for me anyway) there are "nerves" becuase I just want the game to start and am pumped to get started

    The more you play and start a game the more used you will be to starting and the nervousness will go away, there will always be nerves it is how sports work. In the mean time just try to not think about the start of the game, just have fun with your teammates, trust me if you start the game just talking it up with the team you forget all about your own nerves and you think about the team.

  2. Everybody gets nervous!! What I do is I think of the game before the game is even started on what I should do and what I could do to make me play better. This way you are prepared and you are not as nervous!! When I get on the court though after everything with the shaking the hands with the opponents and everything just talk with your team, and that will also help. Well these things work for me, but they might not work for you. After of a couple of years of playing you will find the things that work best for you to get over before game jitters in the mean time just have fun!!

  3. before a game starts and we are waiting for the ref to check line up me and my teammates do handshakes that we made up to relax and have fun. if its a big game we do a stomach slam ( where you run jump and hit each other in air) haha.

  4. it is very common to be nervous.

    i often get nervous too, but like you said, after a rotation or so, i feel better. there really is no way to 'cure' it, but the best thing you can do is remember that it is only a game, and no one is judging you, and everyone isnt looking at JUST you, and that if you make a mistake, it doesnt matter, because everyone makes mistakes. after a few years of playing you will get over your nervousness :) it just takes some time!

  5. its the same thing with all people in all diffrent sports. People just get nervous. To cut back on being nervous you want to relax and just rember that it its just a game people do for fun and it is not really fun when your all nervous. People make mistakes that is what makes them human if you make one no big deal just try harder

    but u know what u should do?

    u should go on the court in your free time

    and practice with a friend or family member
