Scarf and Primaeval with stronger chances of victory in the Range Rover Sport Trophy Handicap on 16th February at Meydan
Meydan will become the home for the Range Rover Trophy Handicap on Tapeta for three-year-olds and above on Thursday, 16th February. The race will be held over a mile and will be contested by fourteen for the £42,581 purse.
Among those being put through the mile’s test is He ‘Sminenotyours, Indian Charlie’s six-year-old gelding out of mare Lady Of Lourdes, who won the Emirates Airline Handicap on 16th December at Jebel Ali against the 11/8 favourite of the race, Dahteer.
Under training S Seemar, He ‘Sminenotyours claimed the Jebel Ali Mile Prep sponsored by Abu Dhabi University on 13th January, again at Jebel Ali. He posted a victory through his seasonal debut. However, his second start of the season found him seventh on a field of fifteen.
The Rectifier, five-year-old brown horse of Langfuhr out of mare Western Vision started off with the new season by taking away the Betdaq Mobile Apps Conditions Stakes on 4th January at Kempton. He was entered as a 7/2 favourite for the race.
Conditioned by Jim Boyle, The Rectifier could not sustain the performance and ended thirteen on a field of fifteen in his next start with 16th February being his third outing during the new season.
The five-year-old grey gelding, Scarf trained by Saeed bin Suroor, has been a favourite in the last three starts that he made. On 19th November, it was the Warwick Farm 100 Club Handicap at Warwick Farm in which he was entered as a 16/5 favourite for the race but could not get placed.
He was the evening’s favourite in the De Bortoli Wines Handicap on 10th December at Rosehill but could finish fourth only on the track of eight competing.

James Fanshawe trained, six-year-old Primaeval has been sent as a favourite in the last two starts of his. On 16th November, he won the Racing@Skysports.com Conditions Stakes at Kempton after being entered as 13/8 favourite for the race.
