Scarlets denied Bonus Point by Benetton Treviso
Magners league has entered into an interested phase as result of the this weekend’s game will determine the top four place as the results of last week’s places has kept the teams other than Munsters who courtesy of their 12
points lead over the second ranked team Leinster might be enough to ensure them a place in the final four irrespective of results of the other games.
Scarlets 22 – 16 triumph over the Benetton Treviso has enabled them to keep their sixth place in the overall standing. 
This was there tenth win in the league however Treviso restricted them from seeking the Bonus Point that would have greatly contributed in their efforts to reach the top four.     
Scarlets will not be entirely happy with their performance in the game as they gave handed over number of easily penalties. Both teams have made changes as Scarlets were without the services of their Skipper and hooker Mathew
Rees who was leave out of the starting line-up by the coach Nigel Davies. While for Treviso Luke McLean and Gonzalo Padro were included in their starting 15.
Scarlets were just one try away from scoring a bonus point and had enough time to score one but Treviso somehow prevented them for scoring their fourth penalty in the remaining 34 minutes. It was the Treviso with their fly half
Kris Burton to score first courtesy of a drop goal in the 8th minute in the game.
Scorecard was levelled after four minutes courtesy of Scarlets fly half Stephen Jones to score a penalty. Moments later Scarlets took the lead into the match courtesy of their full back Jonathan Edwards try and moments later
followed by Jones conversion to take score to 10 – 7. The lead was cut short by Treviso’s fly half’s penalty in the 35th minute.
Minute before the half time, Scarlets called of their no. 09 Gareth Davies and was replaced by Tavis Knoyle at Scrum Half who immediately scored a try, the second of match followed by another conversion by Jones to take the
score to 17 – 6 in favour of Scarlets at half time.  
At the start of the second half, Treviso were looking not only to save the match but also to cut down the deficit to enable them to secure a bonus point. However it was Scarlets who scored with six minutes into the second half
after Winger George North recovered the ball from the tackle to pass it to fly half who scored his first of the game to extend the lead by 16 points.  
Following this Treviso made four changes to stay in the game followed by Burton scoring the penalty in the 53rd minute. 
23 minutes thereafter, witnessed both team making changes, making errors, looking to create scoring opportunities and playing tight rugby. However, it was the Treviso who had the last hurrah, as they score seven points with
two minutes remaining in the game to secure a bonus point courtesy of their scrum half Tobie Botes try and Burtons conversion, his only conversion for the game.
Scarlets will now face their all important match against the Ulsters currently ranked third in the table with 55 points at Ravenhil, Belfast.
