  1. God forbid! Till its no a crash I do not consider it scarry. So some one out there have a crash Experience and what???

  2. I was once flying out of Atlanta in a regional jet during the summer - and there was a thunderstorm going on outside.

About 10 minutes after we took off, the turbulence went from bad to feeling the plane jerk up quickly, then WHOOM - it would sink back down again just as quickly. We could feel the updraft/downdraft of the clouds tossing us around because it was a small plane (there was only one pilot and one flight attendant, if that gives you an idea of how small it was). It was one of the few moments that I've actually thought I might crash in a plane. I was so scared that I cried!

Eventually, it did get better, though they never served drinks properly - the one flight attendant passed out those little bottles of Dasani water and then went back to her seat. Yeah.

That's why I don't like to fly in regional jets any more.

  3. The scariest experiences I've had on airplanes had more to do with a passenger, than the plane itself.  I'm a flight attendant, and I've had numerous medical emergencies.  Luckily, everything has been ok with all the cases I've had....but they are still scary!

  4. I remember flying about a year ago and the plane suddenly like died and we started 2 free fall.....that scared me! But, i still like flying more then riding in a car! hahaha....

  5. Flight from Vienna to Lviv, Ukraine on an Austrian airlines dash 8 400-70 seat propeller plane. For an hour long flight, wow. Extreme turbulence. Passengers and crew spilled numerous drinks before flight attendants all ran to their seats. We made several rapid drops, waves, and everything inbetween. We touched down on the right side of the plane first, and i actually thought we were going to veer off the runway. March 2008. I am a frequent flier, and know turbulence...this was not turbulence, this was EXTREME TURBULENCE.

Another time was 4 years ago (about that) on an Air Canada Zip plane from Vancouver to Edmonton. We were about 5 minutes from Edmonton, flying through a large thunderstorm, when we were hit by lightening. The plane shook violently for a second, the pilot made the announcement, and we continued to land safetly.

I wasnt scared on either occasion, but i know that other passengers were not having such a fun time....

  6. My American Airlines flight touched down almost sideways to the landing strip in Peoria, Ill. during a violent thunderstorm then bounced approx. 100 feet into he air before finally landing safely.  I've never felt more like kissing the ground once I was outside.

  7. I was once on a 14 hour flight and had no problem dealing with turbulence. This time, it was no regular turbulence. It was so rough our necks were flying back in forth and I could tell that even the flight attendants looked scared. It was just so rough that for one spilt second, there is always that thought about what could happen. I'm sure people have had much worse experiences but it was scary at the time.

  8. Delayed trips, mostly.  I had a doosey of a trip though, one time from Hawaii.  I was flying alone and scared.  The people sitting next to me were employees of this airline.  They said that their employees got the worst service than any of their 'paying' customers.  When the food came around, they hid the first round of food and complained that they had not received their food.  They were a crack-up and a half and had me in stitches, all the way home!  I think it was a God thing!  LOL!
