Question:

Scat as a pet fish in the aquarium

Anyone has kept scat as a solitary pet fish? I got a scat a week ago. It started attacking tank mates in the night and killed 2 gold fishes. Moreover, the water had to be made brackish for the scat. So now he is in isolation. Any similar experiences?

  3. Yes, scats tend to be aggressive sometimes but are listed as brackish community fish. If you want my advice, add some similarly sized or bigger fish. They can grow to a foot, but more likely ten inches. They are born in brackish water but travel closer and closer to the sea as they mature. The best tankmates are monos(both silver and sebae), bull sharks, siamese tigerfish, etc. All of those fish grow up as ocean fish but can grow quite big so be sure to have a huge tank.
