Scenic skiing places near?

Question

I'm hoping to find a scenic place with lakes, pine trees, etc. near Buffalo, NY (within an hour and a half radius).

I like Lake Placid, but it's 5.5 hours away from Buffalo.

I saw some local ski resorts, but from the snapshots I've seen, they didn't look too scenic - dead woods, not green and lush pines.

Are there any pretty places to ski around Buffalo, NY or in Canada?

idk if it is within an hour and a half of buffalo though

i would say go to vermont it is very beautiful in the winter and most resorts are amazing
