I want to use Happy Weekend Tickets in Germany. FMI on these tickets are at http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/travelservice/price_tourist.shtml

I want to know if someone has used these and how to go about making reservations for multiple trips on the same day for the same people using the same Happy Weekend Ticket.

i.e. if I want to book a ticket from A to B (German Rail website lets me book these Weekend tickets), but if I want to also book B to C the same day with these same tickets how do I do it?

  1. Happy Weekend tickets are only valid for regional/commutter  trains (S-Bahn, RB, IRE, RE), for which you can't make reservations.

Basically, what you do is buy the ticket and then travel around as you please, using as many of the above mentioned trains as you please, either Sarurday or Sunday, between midnight and 3 am of the following day.

The Schönes Wochenende Tickets are great if you want to travel to a fairly close destination and back, but if you plan on, say a journey between Hamburg and Munich, it will literally take you the whole day.

  2. Exactly, if you do both journeys (A to B and B to C) in regional trains (the DB ones have normally red color) all you have to do is buy one ticket. One ticket for 33 € is valid for an unlimited number of journeys on all regional trains of DB and some others throughout Germany. Remember to write down your name on the ticket. It is valid only for you and up to 4 people travelling with you. Like said before, reservations are not possible...anyway you can buy the ticket just before your journey from most ticket machines.
