The Werder Bremen boss has insisted that the team is preparing well for the new campaign and is aiming for a place in Europe at the end of the season.
The River Islanders have been busy in this summer’s transfer window in making some new acquisitions to the squad to make sure they achieve their European ambition in the upcoming campaign. There were some high-profile departures

Thomas Schaaf, Bremen’s manager, claimed that the team is well prepared for the new campaign and insisted that the new players are coping well in training. The tactician admitted that the new additions have taken relatively less
time to settle in and are determined to perform at the highest stage.
The former Die Werderaner defender hinted that the club is working on some more signings before the season starts later this month. He added that there are still certain areas that need to be strengthened and the club is working
to find the appropriate players.
“We are well on our way. The team have been working very hard and we have been able to experience many positive things. Our newcomers have fit in well, and are making a good impression, focused on the matters at hand. We will be
keeping our eyes open to strengthen the team during the remainder of the transfer season,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Schaaf stated that the club’s main target is to qualify for Europe at the end of next season and is confident that the side will achieve the feat.
“We currently have a young team that is eager for success, wanting to rediscover this club's former strength. Our goal is to achieve better results so as to dream of returning to Europe,” he concluded.
Werder Bremen will kick start their Bundesliga campaign against Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park on Friday, August 24.
