Schalke 04 Ralf Rangnick believes two errors against Manchester United cost them the match- UCL news
Schalke 04 manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ralf-c30492 Rangnick, has claimed that his team made two costly errors at the back which ultimately made them suffer in the end. The manager was talking in the wake of his team’s loss to Manchester United in the first-leg of the UEFA Champions
League semi-final, which was played on Tuesday, April 26, at the Veltins-Arena. The Red Devils left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 in the second half.
Rangnick believes that his team were lucky enough not to go behind in the first half and praised the efforts of his goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424, who kept United at bay for a long time in the match. He insisted that his side lacked discipline at the back which
was the reason that United were allowed to press forward on frequent basis.
He added, "We conceded two goals because we lost our tactical discipline and made two expensive errors that we should not be making at this level," the tactician told the German media after the game.”
The Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 manager also praised the quality which United displayed even though they were on an away strip. Rangnick hopes that his team would learn from their mistakes and not repeat them once Schalke make the trip to Old Trafford in a week’s
time.
The 52-year-old was all praise for his sensational shot-stopper who made some remarkable saves during that 2-0 loss.
Further praising Neuer, the manager said, "We played well in the first 15 minutes, but after that our defence was no longer there. They attacked our goal but our goalkeeper was great in the first-half. A lot has been said of him [Neuer] being the best goalkeeper
in the world and he proved it tonight. Our opponents showed us our limits tonight. Our main problem was that we ran out of skill and lost control of the ball."
The manager now hopes to see a much improved performance from his outfit when the two teams meet again on Wednesday, May 4, at Old Trafford for the second leg of the tie.
