“Ciprian fits into our sporting requirements. He knows the Bundesliga, speaks many languages and, above all, is a free transfer,” he was quoted as saying to Schalke’s official website.

Ciprian Marica was rather inconsistent at VfB Stuttgart with the 2009-10 season being the highlight of his four year stay with Die Roten. The player scored only six times in the last season in a total of 24 appearances.
