Schalke bid for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462’s Papiss Demba Cisse rejected – Bundesliga news
SC Freiburg have reportedly rejected a bid for striker, Papiss Demba Cisse, tagging it below the 15 million Euro asking price. The club officials were determined to retain the striker for the next season despite being associated with the Ukrainian outfit,
Dynamo Kyiv, and English Premier League side, Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385.
Kyiv had been showing interest in the striker since the conclusion of the last season but haven’t made an offer yet for the Senegalese. Schalke made an official bid for the 26-year-old earlier in the ongoing transfer window, but it was 3 million Euros below
the asking price. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues offered 12 million Euros for the inspirational striker which was promptly rejected by the Freiburg officials.
Meanwhile, Cisse has revealed that he hasn’t decided upon his future yet but would be happy to stay at the club for at least one more year. He expressed the desire to lead his side to at least a European spot in the upcoming campaign. The player clearly
stated that he wouldn’t be making a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032 but the English option seems an impressive one where he stands an opportunity to win silverware.
Breisgau-Brasillianer manager, Marcus Sorg, praised the striker for his undoubted abilities upfront and desperately wanted to retain the Senegalese for the next season. He was confident that the player would certainly improve upon his last season’s performances,
where he was the second highest goalscorer behind Bayern Munich’s Mario Gomez.
In an interview to a local news channel, Sorg enthused, "His behaviour is absolutely exemplary and he performs to the limits. Papiss does not give the impression that he wants to play somewhere else."
Cisse joined Freiburg in 2009 and has managed 48 Bundesliga appearances so far, netting 28 goals in return. He made his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 debut in 2010 and has an incredible seven goals from just the nine games.
Freiburg will travel away to FC Augsburg on Saturday, August 6 in their opening game of the 2011/12 campaign. The club would be hoping to put up improved performances compared to the last season, where they finished ninth on the table.
