The German club was caught off-guard as the Milan club held talks with the Greek player's representatives without seeking their authorisation.

last week, with the FC Schalke player on Friday.
Horst Heldt said that he already knew about the interest of AC Milan in their central defender, but Rossoneri's behaviour of approaching the player without using the proper channels or by any formal means has frustrated them. He
stated that the issue will be discussed when the Italian giants come to play them in a friendly match at their home ground in Gelsenkirchen and the Milan club will be asked to give them a hands up, for future reference.
"We will see Milan next week for the friendly match at the Veltins Arena so then I will tell the representatives of the club that it would be nice if they would warn us next time before they come to hold talks with the player,"
he stated.
The sporting director further clarified that AC Milan have been following the player, since they imminently needed a replacement for their defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903. He insisted that the Italians are very keen to sign him, although,
the player has no intention of leaving his current employers. H
Heldt also confirmed that the meeting of the Milan representatives and the player's agents did happen and it is not just another rumour.
"I can confirm that AC Milan held discussions with Papadopoulos' advisors. Interest is there on the part of Milan - but there is no interest on the part of the player. Papa wants to stay here.”
The Greek youngster signed for Gelsenkirchen club from Olympiacos in 2010 and has made 76 appearances so far, while scoring 5 goals. He has been rock solid in Schalke's defence ever since.
In the most recent Euro 2012 tournament, Papadopoulos demonstrated brilliant displays for his birth country and also scored goals in the European Championships qualifying campaign.
