Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes has stated that his side are ready to face the challenges in the Bundesliga and are aiming for a top three finish at the end of the season. He claimed that although the season has not started well
for Die Knappen, he is hopeful of a strong comeback.

Howedes said that he is hopeful that the fans will be patient as it was only the first game. He admitted that the team needs some time to settle in and there are definite signs of potential amongst some of the players. He insisted
that the players will have to carry on their performances in the DFB-Pokal and Europe last year to this season and prove their worth.
“I hope that all Schalke's environment have patience with us. We need a little time, but we will develop positively. It is a good year for us. For a specific target but the season is still far too young,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The German international admitted that Die Knappen have a young side and that some players will have to step up with their performances. He stated that the side is ready for the clash against FC Koln and is surely aiming for a
top three finish this time.
“I have a young team and there is a very good feeling. We are all ready for Saturday against Cologne to enter the first three!” he continued.
Howedes also played down rumours that the players have problems with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ralf-c30492 Rangnick and admitted that things are smooth and great.
“We have absolutely no problem chief! I'm here in the first year as Schalke captain and have the makings of a leader,” he concluded.
Schalke play FC Koln at Veltins-Arena on Saturday.
