Schalke defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Fuchs-c9078 delighted with Hoffenheim win- Bundesliga news
Schalke full-back Christian Fuchs has expressed his delight on winning the Bundesliga game against Hoffenheim last weekend. He claimed that the side put in a brilliant performance to prove that Schalke are surely the contenders
of the Bundesliga title this season.
The player also praised teammate http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Klaas-Jan-Huntelaar-c21175 for his amazing goal scoring form in the current campaign and remained hopeful that the Dutchman would keep scoring goals.
Schalke have climbed to the second spot in the German league standings and have accumulated 21 points so far, four points behind less than the leaders Bayern Munich. The team has won seven of the 11 games played and have lost four
times in the process.
Fuchs claimed that the team played with great passion and determination against Hoffenheim and proved to the critics that they have what takes to challenge for the honours. He admitted that the side was tired after the mid-week
UEFA Europa League game but were still brilliant both offensively and defensively.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Bochum-c40880 player lauded that side’s determination and strength as they played with the same tempo even when the opposition equalised. He also had words of praise for Dutch international Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and claimed
that the forward was sensational as he scored a brace in front of the home fans.
“One decisive factor was that we played with a lot of passion, even after we conceded the equaliser. Perhaps we were a little tired after the cup game in midweek, but we gritted our teeth and eventually got our second wind. It
was good that 'Hunter' got his goals after missing two earlier chances,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Austrian international is looking forward to the next game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 on Sunday and is aiming for another victory to keep up with Bayern Munich.
“It was certainly a decent performance. We showed a good reaction even after going behind and in spite of our tiredness. The team kept on believing and to win 3-1 felt great,” he concluded.
Schalke will travel to Hannover 96 on Sunday to play at the AWD-Arena and will be in search of their eight league win of the season.
