Schalke doubles Etienne Capoue bid as Toulouse forced to reconsider – Bundesliga news
Schalke 04 have forced the French Ligue 1 side to reconsider their decision regarding Etienne Capoue after doubling his bid from four million to Eight million Euros. The midfielder attracted interest from the German unit at the conclusion of the 2010/11
season and it now seems likely that the youngster would be parting ways with the French outfit. Schalke’s earlier bid of four million Euros was rejected by Toulouse officials.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ralf-c30492 Rangnick, also wanted the Frenchman in his side for the upcoming season, keeping
in mind his team’s deficiency especially at the back. He was sure that Capoue would certainly prove to be a handful at Veltins-Arena and urged the President to try hard to acquire the services of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 U21 international.
Toulouse, on the other hand, seemed reluctant in selling the midfielder as he was one of the shining stars during the 2010/11 season. This was one of the major reasons that the four million Euros were not found acceptable by the Pitchouns Chairman, Olivier
Sadran. The French club also recently extended the player’s contract until 2015 and appointed him the Toulouse vice-captain for the 2011/12 campaign, signalling the fact that the club aren’t prepared to sell Capoue any time soon.
The 22-year-old spent two years in Toulouse youth ranks before making his way into the club’s senior side in 2007. The player has managed 100 league appearances since then, bagging two goals during the process. He is yet to appear for the French national
side but has already represented his country at the U18, U19 and U21 levels.
Meanwhile, Schalke are still hopeful of acquiring the services of Stade Brest striker, Nolan Roux. The French outfit have already made it clear that they won’t be selling Roux for anything less than eight million Euros, an amount Schalke are unwilling to
pay.
For his part, the player has remained muted over this issue, leaving his fate in the club management’s hand.
