Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s future has been under widespread speculation with reports linking him with a possible move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in this summer’s transfer window.
The attacker has a contract with Schalke that will end next summer. If the player intends to leave, the club may be forced to sell him as they would prefer to receive a transfer fee this year rather than selling him on a free transfer
next year.
Die Knappen sporting director Horst Heldt admitted that the decision should come by Friday. He insisted that the player has the option of either extending his stay at the Veltins-Arena or leave if any other team is interested in
acquiring his services.
The chief added that the attacker is weighing his options before the transfer window shuts at the end of this month. He stated that the club will certainly wait on what the player decides and will make their decision accordingly.
“We will definitely not have a decision on this until Friday. He is in a situation where he could sign his final big deal and it's pretty obvious that he is weighing up all his options. That is fair and reasonable,” he was quoted
as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Huntelaar stated that he will only make the decision when the time is right for him. The former AC Milan and Real Madrid man admitted that he still needs time to monitor his options and is certain that he will
reach a decision in the next few days.
“There will be a decision on my future when the time is right. I think that time is not far off,” he concluded.
