Schalke General Manager, Horst Heldt, has revealed that the club is still interested in signing the veteran goalkeeper Jens Lehmann in spite of the wage issue. He confirmed reports suggesting any disputes resulting from the keeper’s wage demands but was
sure that the issue would be resolved very soon.

Some reports in the media claim that both Schalke and Lehmann have finished talks regarding the goalkeeper’s possible arrival at Veltins-Arena on a minor wage issue. It is reported that the 41-year-old shot-stopper asked for 4 million Euros while the club
are not eager to pay more than 2 million Euros to their possible second choice.
Lehmann believes that Schalke have benefited a great deal from Neuer’s transfer in terms of cash and was pretty sure that the club could easily pay him in excess of 3-4 Million Euros.
Heldt mentioned that in spite of the ongoing wage row, there is nothing finalized yet and the former AC Milan keeper could well be brought to Veltins-Arena in the next few days.
