Schalke reveal Stekelenburg interest
Schalke’04 have revealed interest in signing Ajax goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Neuer-c23424.
Neuer is set to leave the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Royal-95-c40387 Blues for Bayern Munich at the end of the 2010/11 season. The UEFA Champions League semi-finalists are in the market for a new goalkeeper and have expressed interest in signing the Dutch International.
The 28-year-old emerged from the youth ranks of Ajax and has made more than 200 appearances for the club so far. His club manager, Frank De Boer, has also revealed that the shot-stopper might leave for a bigger club in the summer transfer window.
"Stekelenburg is the shot-stopper of Netherlands' national team for a good reason, and his contract with Ajax runs [for] only one more season," stated Schlake’04 sporting director Horst Heldt
Stekelenburg has also been linked with a move to Manchester United to replace the veteran Edwin Van Der Sar, who is retiring at the end of the 2010/11 season.
Tottenham interested in Ben Foster
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp, has identified Birmingham City goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ben-Foster-c7445, as one of his major transfer targets in the summer transfer window.
Redknapp is believed to have lost patience with his number one shot-stopper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heurelho-Gomes-c16173, who has made several high profile errors, which have resulted in failure of the club to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Foster joined Birmingham from Manchester United last season and has insisted that he is happy at the St. Andrews and has no intentions of leaving the club.
Foster said: "I've loved every minute of this season. The dressing room we've got here and the spirit is fantastic. I wouldn't want to leave that to be honest with you. I'm back home in the area where I was born."
Redknapp is reportedly weighing a player-plus-cash swoop for the goalkeeper, which will include midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Bentley-c10435 going the other way.
The former Portsmouth manager is also monitoring the situation of West Ham United goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Green, who is available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
