Schalke’s Horst Heldt reveals Raul will stay at the club despite Blackburn interest- Bundesliga news
Schalke Sporting Director Horst Heldt has revealed that former Real Madrid striker Raul will stay at the club this season despite strong interest from Premier League club Blackburn Rovers. He confirmed that the striker’s agent
has told him that the Spaniard wants to stay.
Earlier the club revealed that Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 had placed an official undisclosed bid for the Spaniard. There have been reports of differences between Raul and the club manager Ralf Rangnick in the past few weeks and there is
speculation that the players wants out.
Heldt revealed that the forward’s agent has confirmed that his client has no intentions of leaving for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 this summer and that he will honour his contract with the German side.
“Raul's agent told me that his client does not want to go to Blackburn. He will stay at Schalke,” the Sporting Director confirmed the news.
The Director insisted that Die Knappen have always wanted the striker to stay after his terrific maiden season with the club last year. He admitted that the manager also wants to keep the player and that he is surely in the club’s
future plans.
“Both our coach http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ralf-c30492 Rangnick and my colleague Peter Peters as well as myself have always stressed that we did not want him to leave,” he continued.
Heldt also praised the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 international for his commitment and determination throughout the previous campaign and remained hopeful that he would contribute further for the sporting success of the club in the coming years.
Raul also scored in Schalke’s last Bundesliga outing against FC Koln as the club secured all three points.

throughout the competition. He also has 102 international caps to his name, scoring 44 goals.
