Schedule for 46th National Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship in Pakistan disclosed
The Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) finally disclosed the schedule of the 46th National Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship on Thursday, March 17. The information was publicised from the head-quarter of PVF in the second largest city of Pakistan, Lahore.
According to the plan, the WAPDA Sports Complex will hold the official draw for the tournament. The process will be initiated at 15:00 local time on March 22nd. The Vice President of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), Mr Muhammad Khalid Mehmood will supervise the entire activity, while he will be accompanied by the Director General of WAPDA Sports Board as well.
A total of seventeen teams will participate in the National Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship. The participants of the championship include teams from armed forces and police from all four provinces, Gilgit, Biltistan, Higer Education Commission (HEC), Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), the Intermediate and Secondary Education Boards, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Pakistan Railways and Federal Capital Islamabad.
In the previous edition of Senior Men’s Volleyball Championship, Pakistan Army settled for the top position; they will be defending the title this year.
During the national championship, the Secretary of the Pakistan Volleyball Referee Board Mr Shoaib Ahmed Usmani will take over the position of Chairman of the Refereeing Committee. Likewise, Najam ul Hassnain Sajid will act as the Secretary of the sports committee.
For disciplinary actions, the services of 14 referees have been hired. Muhammad Nadeem, Ms Sana Ali, Muhammad Tariq, Muhammad Wajid Kamal, Muneer Amed, Sajjad Bhatti, Aurnagzab, Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Rashid, Furqan Ahmed, Khusnood Ali, Muhammad Muunshah, Ms Sumara and Ms Fakhra Javeen will perform their duties as the official referees of this national campaign.
The teams are going through extensive training and practices sessions, in order to perform well and capture the national title. The Pak Army Team is enjoying a tremendous form and they have the potential to secure the title for another year.
