  2. The Schengen visa or card is essentially an application for Spanish citizenship and if you intend to travel in Spain and the rest of Europe over a long period of time may be a reasonable purchase. The relatively high cost (around  4000 Euros) would seem to be against its use for one visit travellers. If you are determined to go ahead Google Schengen Visa and take your pick.

  3. Barrowman's reply is total nonsense. A Schengen Visa is NOT an application for citizenship, it is simply a common visa for the EU countries (except Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus - not yet implemented; and except the UK and Ireland - no intention to implement) , plus Norway and Iceland (plus Switzerland and Liechtenstein later this year). Tourists from most of Asia and Africa, and parts of South America  and the Pacific islands need a category C short-stay visa; other types of Schengen visa are category A (airport transit), category B (transit visa to cross the Schengen zone within 5 days), and category D (national visas, intended to allow long-term or permanent residence in one particular country, possibly with a view to getting citizenship). There are also category D+C visas to allow foreign long-term residents in one country to be a tourist in the rest of the area, and FTD and FRTD visas to allow transit by road and rail respectively between Kaliningrad Oblast and the rest of the Russian Federation.

Tourists are supposed to apply for visas to the consulate of the Schengen country you will be spending most time in, but if the Spanish consulate can't get you an appointment within 2 months, perhaps you could try the Portuguese or French consulates, and say you'll probably be spending more time in their country.

  4. Yes, you  should have  a  schengen  visa. Any  country  in  Europe  which  is  belong  to  the  European  community  you  want  to  visit  needs  schengen  visa. If  the  Spanish consulate  in  your  place   is  not  available  try  other consulate  member  of  European  community  and  you  can  get  the  best  answer  you  want  to  know..

  5. If you have a full UK passport you don't need a visa....
