Scherer Magic triumphs in the Grade 3 Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes
The Grade 3 Hollywood Juvenile Championship Stakes was hosted at the Betfair Hollywood Park on 14th July, 2012, and it was a tough battle between some of the best juveniles of the country.
Running over a distance of six furlongs, it was the John Sadler trained, Scherer Magic, who prevailed by a margin of 2 ½ lengths over his stable-mate, Carson's Crown.

Just Call Me Al, sneaked in third, who is under the wing of trainer, Mike Harrington, as he fell 1 ¾ lengths behind the runner-up.
Mounted by rider Joseph Talamo, the winner went home with $90,000 and, completed the race in 1 minute and 11.67 seconds.
Amarish took the early lead but, slowed down and Strong Wind got ahead of him. Scherer Magic followed them in pursuit and, advanced into third place.

He quickened and took the lead in the last sixteenth of a mile and emerged successful.
The winning rider commented: "We had a perfect trip, I was able to tuck in around the turn, save a little ground and came out turning for home and blew them down."
The gelding was claimed by Sadler for owners Gary and Cecil Barber after his debut which took place at the Betfair Hollywood Park on 14th June, 2012.
John Sadler claimed him for $50,000 after he defeated, Duke Street King, by 7 ¼ lengths over five furlongs in the Maiden Claimer, which he completed in an impressive time of 58.09 seconds.
Sadler was satisfied with the way his runners performed, as a result of his victory in this race. Opportunities are opening up for the two-year-old and, the handler is considering taking him to the Breeders’ Cup.
He confirmed this as he told the press that:
"I might want to make him eligible to the Breeders’ Juvenile Sprint (Nov. 3 at Santa Anita). It closes tomorrow and it’s a big price reduction if you nominate him early. I thought my other horse (Carson’s Crown) also ran well. He broke a little bit
poorly, but he closed really well.”
The son of Doneraile Court, out of mare She's A Nasty One, has now two victories out of two starts and, is aiming for hat-trick.
It was a particularly good day for John Sadler as he also saddled Lady Of Shamrock in American Oaks.
