Former Danish footballer, Peter Schmeichel, believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup will be a hit at Swansea City.
The retired goalkeeper was of the opinion that Swansea’s playing style best suited Laudrup and had no doubts that the team will soon hit the ground running.
The Dane became in charge of the Liberty Stadium in June, following Brendan Rodgers departure. After steering his side to massive wins over Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and West Ham United in the opening two games, three defeats on the bounce sent the Swans in a
downward spiral, before they steadied the ship with a win against Wigan Athletic last week.
Questions have already started to being raised over the chances of the team surviving another season at the English top-flight, following their impressive debut EPL appearance last term.
Nonetheless, Schmeichel is confident that Laudrup was the best man for Swansea City.
The former Manchester United player believes that his compatriot has got an opportunity to build on the foundations laid down by Rodgers in the prevenient campaign and that Swansea was the most suitable club for him.
“I felt it would be a good partnership,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“For Michael there was a really good foundation here for him to come and add his qualities. The opportunity was there for him to come in and have a really good starting point, and I said to him that I thought it was a great opportunity.”
The Swans currently find themselves in the top half of the table, and are 7 points clear of the relegation zone.
Commenting on their performance so far, the 48-year old insisted that Laudrup should not worry too much about his team getting relegated.
He pointed out that the disappointment which resulted from their recent results owed much to the high expectation level that they had set after their blistering start, but praised the manager for handling it in an efficient manner.
“You had the bad results, which are inevitable in this league, and the pressure started piling up. But because of the strength of the manager, the squad and the club, Swansea recovered from that,” he added.
