  1. OMGosh I have a 12 week old puppy who bites also. He bites all the time everyone, hands, feet, arm, anything he can get his teeth into.

However I did find this spray called bitter Apple and you spray it on anythting including your hands that you don't want him to bite or chew and it really works.. Try it..

  2. Puppy Biting?

i grab mine by her muzzle and then put the inside of her cheek against her teeth.. she lets go instantly!

dont jam it though.. that'll hurt her but do it enough so that she lets go

Puppies go through a growth period when their teeth begin to grow and form

that causes them to want to bite everything and ANY THING

i raised a german shepherd puppy, and a labrador/chesapeake bay puppy and i have holes in shoes, walls, sofas you name it!

1)GET all shoes out of the way, buy them tons of rawhide

but DO NOT give them those pig ears.. my pups got diarrhea  from it

    2) walk them or play with them so they are too tired to wanna bite

    3) buy the miracle spray to prevent biting on objects

some of them will bite on your clothes (jeans) if they do ( it is inevitable) and some will nip at your feet these are all normal for a growing canine.

but they do grow out of it =]

  3. What I do is hold their mouth shut and tell them know.  If this is not working I take their lip and push it against the puppies teeth, they do not like it.  I also will get a old rag and wet it tie it in a knot and freeze it, the puppies are teething just like babies.

  4. Teach bite inhibition.

  5. Depends on when the puppy bites you? While feeding it, while playing, while training... what? I'm not a mind reader.

  6. This DOES NOT HURT the puppy!

Take your hand like a claw and put it on the puppies neck (side of neck) add a little pressure - like the mother dog would bite at a puppy when it bites her. Do this every time the puppy bites. This will stop the biting. But, remember do not do it to hard

  7. Never, ever smack a puppy.  If the puppy is biting while playing, just walk away.  Give it a few minutes and go back.  He'll catch on quickly that biting is punished by losing company and fun.  If he is biting when you try to take something away from him (a toy or food), you need to stand your ground, and not let him win, as he is trying to establish dominance.  If he is trying to become leader of the pack, don't play rough with him, or play tug-o-war.  Most of the time, a puppy is just learning what behavior is acceptable, and he can learn that from you pretty easily.  Best of luck.

  8. Aww! I love schnauzers.  I have one of my own.

Anyways when she/he bites, gently grab her snout and smack it. Look them firmly in the eye and say "no" Repeat no a few times and call them a bad girl or boy.

  9. Well unlike a few above me I didn't smack my dog..I said in a stern voice No bite! and turned away from the puppy .Both my dogs learned it was not ok to bite a human within a few days..after a few times the puppy will understand that it gets no attention when it does it and will stop doing so.Also play with your puppy with a toy..so it learns it's ok to bite the toy and not you..Mine love tug of war with a thick rope with knots on each end..they now play tug of war with each other..

  10. Puppies bite, he's just playing! My dog did this too when he was a pup.

Now he's all grown, and never bites or even licks anyone! haha.

    He just wants to play,

pat him on the bottum and say 'NO!' and most likely he'll go lay down somewhere.

  11. normal. teeth growing in . give them chew toys

  12. Puppies will bite/nip.  The one thing you need to do is teach your pup that's in not acceptable.  Tell your pup No, pop it on the nose or do the uh-uh no to stop the behavior.

If you allow it to happen it will continue.  Play is one thing and even that can be controlled with no or uh-uh or ouch.  Animals are smart and learn very quick.
