Scholarship 4 college and interest! Please help!~~~~

Okay...I kno In Islam interest is haram...but what am I supposed to do bcuz i won a scholarship and they are going to make an account 4 me....and I really need the money for when I go to college...!

also what are Muslim Americans supposed to do with their money??are we allowed 2 put it in banks??bcuz there aren't any Muslim banks??

You can ask the bank to open for you a current account in which there is no interest. Try to explain to them that you don't want interest on your money. If there is no other option, calculate the interest and give it to poor people but it will more likely not be counted as any virtue but it is better to get rid of it.
