Scholarship check....?

i have these two checks from scholarships that i got. they are both made out to me and my college. How do i cash them?? Do i have to do it at the school or can i go to my bank and have them cashed?

  1. You must take them to school, sign them over to the school and deposit them through the school. When your fees are paid in full, the school will issue you a check for the remaining funds.

    If the scholarship is for two terms, only half of it will be considered for the fall. The other half will be held in escrow and applied against tuition and fees in the spring.


  2. You have to have an authorized endorsement from the college before you can do anything with them.

  3. Since the school's name is listed, you have to take them to the school.  They will have you sign them and they will deposit them into your college account to help pay for your expenses or if you don't owe the school any money (say, you paid your tuition and fees already) they may deposit them in their bank and MIGHT issue you a check for the amount, or the amount left over.
