Question:

Scholarship frustration? High GPA but NOT low income?

I am attending a university in the fall of 2009 and have been applying for scholarships for a while. My problem is, most are for low income families. We aren't "low income" but we aren't "high income" either. Enough to live comfortably, but not enough to pay for college without loans and scholarships.

My question is - what is the best way to get scholarships without qualifying for "low income"? I have had stellar GPAs throughout high school (4.0 or above) along with tons of extra curriculars and community service.

Any ideas? Thanks! :)

  1. there are a lot of great websites out there that help with finding scholarships. fastweb.com is one that i used a lot. you take a survey that helps narrow down scholarships that you may be eligable for and it reminds you of deadlines. i highly recommend it. it does send you lots of emails, which can get annoying. but other than that it's very useful.

  2. Sometimes communities have different organizations that give to kids scholarships. I don't know how you find them. Like the Kiwanis club, etc...

Sorry, can't think of anything else.
