Bladeyourride.com was having a scholarship contest for $10,000

You make a video advertising their product

Well they let me submit my video even though I was late a month in meeting the deadline. Also, August 8th was when they were going to let us know the winners...No notification yet. It's Aug. 10 today.

I found this scholarship through fastweb and they said they post non-scam sites.

Well....all this is fishy and another entrant in the scholarship thinks its fishy too.

They took our resume, letter of recommendation, and transcript and the video we made.

Also, the lady said she had internet problems...that's why she cudn't reply to us last time. This time...no word.

  1. They didn't ask for money? Scholarship scams usually ask for 'application fees' (or whatever it's called) before you can begin your application. That's how scammers profit from scamming people.

Some scholarship awards really require submission of videos or other specific task that is usually related to a particular major.

Making videos would be criteria associated for a film or art scholarship. Judging from the type of video that is requested, it could be that the scholarship award you applied for could be related to a major in the field of business - marketing, advertising, etc.

Are you planning to major in any art related or business related field?

In any case, what I find fishy is the part that asks you to 'advertise their products'. Granted, they could be legit. However, it could also be a ploy to gather ideas for a marketing campaign for free. If they are a scam, they could 'steal' ideas from applicants to come up with a marketing campaign. But that is hard to verify.

Hopefully, they are legit and that you'll hear from them soon and that you'll find out the results of the competition.
