I'm in the eighth grade and I want to go to Stanford University and major in both computer sciences and computer engineering.

Yes, I completely realize the responsibility needed and I want to get started preparing.

What can I do to assure a scholarship?

By the way I am currently living in The panhandle of Florida

  1. I'm not positive Stanford gives full scholarships for this, but pretty much every school will give you some scholarship if you are a National Merit Finalist (not to mention the scholarship money from that).  Make sure your grades are good and study for PSATs and SATs --national merit is based on PSAT scores, so you'll want to do well on those.  Your second priority after grades/test scores is to work on leadership/extracurriculars. Also, be sure to cultivate any connections/strings you might be able to use! (eg if you had an uncle who went to Stanford, or something like that) Good luck!

  2. wow, you sound like me, only a tad smarter.

start practicing SAT and ACT questions,

    it'll help.

  3. You can't 'assure a scholarship' but you can enter, in your case, computing competitions and fairs, and increase your credibility in that area.  However, you shouldn't start applying for scholarships until you are at least in high school.  And keep your options open, you might be surprised how your interests and goals change with high school.

  4. only 1 in like 500 people get in. you would have to enter a respectable high school. (im also in 8th grade) and then have a GPA HIGHER than 4.0u do this by taking advanced classes and getting all a's in them. and even after all that you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO HAVE A "SPECIAL" QUALITY  because you will be competing against people like that and if u dont stand out, you wont even be CONSIDERED. and good luck,

ps: thats where i plan 2 go as well, exept not computers, i hate them!
