I am going into college next year, and my mom pretty much threw me into the back seat for the whole applying and financial and pretty much everything, for college. I want to apply for scholarships, but my mom doesn't want me to. She's afraid of identity theft I guess. Is there any scholarships that you know are real or a sit that lists all real scholarships? Or is there a way to get my mom to let me apply for scholarships.? (ps-I am currently finding/looking up scholarships on fastweb. are those scholarships all real?) Anything will hel...thankyou! :)

  1. Check with your high school counselor, they have listings of scholarships that are available and legitimate.

  2. Fastweb is a good source for scholarships, and they are not scams. I would get a Kaplan book or one of those "going to college for free for dummies" books, they can be extremely helpful and there have been fact checkers for all of those. Stand up for yourself--you're going to be on your own soon!!

  3. If your mom does not want you to apply for aid, does that mean she is going to pay 100% of your college expenses?

She will probably freak when she finds out how much personal information the FAFSA wants.

If she is paying 100% though, let her.

  4. You can go to

    http://www.all-about-scholarship.com

    it's about scholarships information.

    Good luck
