http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 should be crowned the Premier League’s player of the season despite joining the squad in January.
A media pundit now by profession, Alan Hansen has always had good reason to hate Manchester United.
The Kop legend had some wonderful years on Merseyside and seeing the rise of Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s side must have been painful for any Reds’ fan.
Hansen is also particularly famous for criticizing United in the 1995/96 season, as Ferguson’s men endured a poor start to the season, prompting the 56-year-old to say that “you can’t win anything with kids.”
Ironically that Red Devils’ team contained the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432, who later went on to become the club’s greatest servants.
Over the years, Hansen has continued to criticize the club and has often claimed that their squad isn’t strong enough to challenge for honours at the highest level.
However time after time, he has been proven wrong, as the Manchester giants have won everything there is to win in club football over and over again.
This time, though, Hansen was full of praise for United midfielder Paul Scholes, who came out of retirement in January to inspire the club to great success.
"He may have played only 14 games, but Scholes is my Player of the Year. Calm, assured, magnificent on the ball and someone who everyone at Old Trafford will look at before an important fixture and say: He is someone you can trust.”
"That's what it all comes down to when the going is toughest. Being able to trust your team and having players who trust each other. That is why United are going to be champions again and the agonizing wait for those City fans will linger on,” the former
centre-back was quoted as saying.
Besides attracting praise from all corners of the globe, Scholes has reportedly been offered another deal at United for at least one more season and given how he has been performing in the last couple of games, he should take up the opportunity with both
hands.
