Manchester United’s veteran midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394 has gone on to sign a new deal with the team, which will see him stick around for another season.
The midfielder went on to call it quits on his footballing career at the end of the 2010 – 2011 season, but he then went on to make a very surprising return to the team, in the January of 2012.
Following his return he went on to be a part of the United side, that beat City by three goals to two in the FA Cup.
As a result, many believed that his return would help the team get the boost that they needed, in order to progress and perform even better over the remainder of the season.
Scholes had a very good impact on the team and apart from running the midfield, every time that he stepped onto the pitch, he managed to score four goals for the club.
Nonetheless, with him set to turn thirty eight, many believed that he might not decide to stay at the club any longer.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Scholes had initially stated that he might not stay, if he can’t play around forty games a season. Despite that fact, it seems like coming back in January has given the player a much better understanding
of his physical status and he now knows that even playing around twenty to thirty games would be enough for him.
This past season, prior to Scholes returning, the United squad seemed to be lacking in their midfield. The team seemed to be without any player who could carry the team forward, or control the way the game was supposed to be played.
Once Scholes came back, the team seemed to stabilize and move forward. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson is more than likely going to try and remedy the situation, as he looks to bring in a few midfielders in the summers.
Should the manager fail to do so, then United could go on and have another very unsuccessful season this coming turn.
It is now a wait to see just what the future holds for Scholes and Unites.
