School's new dress code?

my sixth form has got a brand new dress code. you have to wear kind of suits, but you don't need to wear a blazer. so basically black shoes, smart trousers and shirt and maybe tie. all my friends say they won't do it, but i'm not sure they mean it. Should i not follow the code and risk getting into a lot of trouble, or follow the code and risk being the only one in 6th form dressed smartly. or could i compromise somehow?

Wear the uniforms but bring a change of clothes just in case everyone is not in their uniforms.

I would go with the uniform. You can make it a bit more stylish, though; keep the shirt untucked, get good quality trousers, good ties, and good shoes.

You can also "forget" your tie on your first day back. See what others are wearing, and you can go from there.
