School Debate Fast Food?

Im having a school debate next week. Can someone give me some facts or examples to say in my debate. The topic is Fast food restaurants should not be required to offer healthier menu choices.

  1. That's stupid, restaurants shouldn't have to offer healthier options.  If you want something healthy, don't go to McDonald's.  How hard is that?

    People should have some self-control and accept responsibility for their actions. Not wait on someone else to change policies so they won't be as tempted to choose something unhealthy.  People are so lazy.


  2. If people want to eat healthy they should not be eating fast food.  Honestly, it is that simple.  It is fast food not health food!

  3. The market and competition will dictate the need for healthier food choices.  If the consumer wants a product and is willing to pay the price for it , there will be a market for it.  This is another effort by the thought police to micromanage the lives of others.  When you go to a restaurant to eat everyone I know of has at least a vague idea of what food will be offered.  You don't go to a Chinese restaurant for tamales or spaghetti.
