  1. I guess it depends on what you are going for. When my daughter was five I dressed her in shirt + vest or sweater + leggings or embroidered jeans outfits from Gymboree and Hartstrings and the now-defunct Storybook Heirlooms with some sweaters and cords for cold weather from Lands' End, but I had more preppy sensibilities than the average mom. I also got her one pair of nice sneakers and some Mary Janes from Doc Maarten or Lands End.

I have a five year old son right now and I guess if he was a girl going into kindergarten I would do a lot of the same things -- tunics and leggings from Lands End and Old Navy and Hanna Andersson with comfortable sneakers.

Kindergarten is not a fashion show and five year old girls don't need the latest styles -- they need sturdy comfortable clothes for learning. Five years old is a cute age and she would probably look adorable in almost anything.

Rather than focusing on fashion, focus on soft cottons and polartec for when it gets colder, snaps and other fasteners she can work herself, and comfy shoes she can move around and play in.

I would suggest Lands End and LLBean.

  2. your 5 year old doesnt need to be "with the latest fashion" sorry but its the truth but you could look into old navy

  3. These are what I do

neck pig tails (I like to use my part down the side and then swerve it back to the middle of the head in the back and put the pony tails in at the neck just behind the ears)

    side pony

    reg pig tails

    french braid

    double side frend braid

    fish tail

    half up

    halp up pigs tails

    reg pony tail

    buns

    messy buns

sometimes she likes to sleep in sponge rollers

I have a scrunchie made of fake hair fake hair (one of the real looking ones not the cheapie colored ones) and we do buns w/ these and it looks as if I spent hours curling her hair and it only takes like 2 min.

Halp up in clippie...push hair forward so theres a small hump in front and do the neck pig tails...but part all straight down

    topsy tail

    messy pony tail

    head bands

hair bands (the popular fabric kind) use in pony tail or just down do

just brush hair and leave down

part hair on the side, and do a half up do with the the middle area of the hair, and let the pony or clipped hair hang to opposite side of part (hard to explain)

grab just the bang area (only if bangs are grown out) and put it in a pony and tighten the pony a bit to give it a messy look

Anyway these are what I use........hope that helps

LMAO./.......FOR SOME REASON I THOUGHT THIS POST SAID HAIR SOMEWHERE???? I BLAME IT ON LACK OF SLEEP, LOL.....BUT ANYHOW I'M LEAVING THIS ANYWAY.........

  4. old navy has really cute clothes and many of them are very reasonable. Aslo check out children's place because they have thing that parents and kids can agree with.

  5. yes my daughter is 5 and starting school this yr. i normally go to the childrens place or target or kohls and she usually picks out her clothes and if she isnt with me i buy things that i like and what i think she might k**e as well.

  6. I really like Gymboree. They have really cute little girl outfits that mix and match nicely and they dont look too grown up for her.
