im in the 8th grade, i failed lastyear by lazyness, but then this year i was getting all A's, but becuase of me being bullied about failing and being older than everyone, my parents decided to homeschool me, but becuase it was two months before school was over, i had to finish a whole school year in two months! i had no idea what i was doing, and the schooling i was on didnt help or respond to me at all, i failed again.

so now that i ihave to do 8th grade for the THIRD time, and i'll be two years behind and a year behind in school than my younger sister, i would love to get my GED ebcuase i dont want to graduate when im 21. becuase i wont have enough time for college and things i'd want to accomplish in my life..

is this possible? if not, can you help me out.

i dont want to drop out, and not have any type of deploma, i want to do things with my life, before i dont even have the chance.

  1. I would suggest you just skip 8th grade and start your high school studies.  In my opinion, there is no reason for you to go through that level again.

Colleges begin looking at coursework starting with high school, not junior high.  So just choose you 9th grade coursework and get started.  Work hard and make sure you pass.

    Good luck!

  2. Get your GED. I attended public school through the 9th grade and I took and passed the test without having to go to classes or anything. Now i am attending college and doing good.

  3. absolutely go for your GED. You can get GED training books that will teach you the basics you need to know for the test. Take the time you need to do a thorough job of studying, a full year or more if you need it. You must be what, 16? Life isn't passing you by yet, don't worry about not having time to do what you want in life. Anyone who's willing to work hard and is as motivated as you seem to be is well equipped to conquer any obstacle. Finish high school via the GED and then go on to a community college for a couple of years. Try out some courses that interest you and when you figure out where your gifts and interests lay, you'll be ready to go on to university.

  4. Are your parents actually homeschooling you or did they just buy some kind of curriculum and tell you to do it? When you are homeschooled you do not need to worry about what "grade" you are in. Start grade 9. My son got left back in grade 8 and I took him out and homeschooled him and he ended up graduation when he was 16, plus he has a high school diploma that was signed by the governer of VA.

What you do with the next few years depends on what you want to do as far as what type of college you want to get into and how much financial aid you would need. generally you have to score high on tests like the SAT or ACT to get good aid or go to a selective college. You also have to present the college some type of a transcript. Some colleges will take the GED and most community colleges will. If you want to go to college though, generally you will need 4 years of English, 3 years of Math (up to Algebra 2), 2 years of lab science, 2 years of foreign language, and at least 2 years of social science. If you do not have those basics, then you will probably have to start at a community college, and after 2 years, you can go to a 4 tear college. You can do that with a GED.

  5. you should get your GED i had the same promble I'm going for my in a couple months.

go to your counselor in school ask them to sign you up for classes, most schools have GED courses.GED is pretty much the same just matters how you use it if your planning on going to a collage your doing great so far then.

  6. get your GED and start college.
