Question:

School bathroom designs....?

My math teacher really wants to paint the school bathroom in the new building. It's a single unisex bathroom so its relatively small. Anyway, she doesn't know what color to paint it. At the moment it's white with ugly green tile from the floor to halfway up the wall. We can't do anything about the tile but we still want to paint and decorate it. It's going to be a girls only bathroom....so...any ideas??

  1. If the tile is glossy, you can apply decals or window clings without damaging the tile or wall.

This would allow you to decorate and change themes anytime the mood strikes you.

  2. u said unisex, then in the end u said gurls bathroom. make up ur mind

  3. Ummm, you can't paint it.  Not without the approval of the school district, who dictate the kind of paint that you can use, based of fire code, moisture, and what is on state contract.  Once you have that worked out,

Go with a light green, an accent to the tile, but still bright.  Then hand paint or stencil some shapes that match the tile, like they are falling tetris blocks or something.   Just a couple, don't go all crazy on me.

You don't want it to be too relaxing, or you will never get anyone out of there.  You want it, not disturbing.

  4. If the materials have been approved by the district (purchasing and code standards etc.,) you may want to consider a pale peach paint that will compliment the green and "girlie" it up a notch.  Since it is a school, you won't be able to add much as far as decor, accessories etc.,  Check with your math teacher to see if he has the authorization to fulfill this project - I find it quite unlikely!

If he wants to get creative, maybe he could make some artwork for the hallways??

Sorry if this is not quite the answer you were seeking, but I must be honest about the likelihood that this is a feasible project.  Everything pertaining to maintenance of the school must be performed to certain codes and by licensed professionals, usually without exception.
