Question:

School depresses me?

I just graduated from High School and will be going to a community college next week. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to go every day and get as many good grades as possible like I did in high school, but honestly, I'm getting so sick of it. I'm tired of sitting in a classroom, listening to a teacher drown on about English or Chemistry (whatever class I'm in), and giving me assignment after assignment. It's just like... after 12 years of this stuff... I'm tired of it. It's so old now. All I want is to just have my job already, but that requires school.

I guess this isn't really a question though. Just more of a rant. But has anyone else ever felt like this? How'd you get through it? Any advice?

  1. Yes, I totally felt your pain.  I was sick of school, sounding exactly like you!  I did stick with it though, and believe me it was worth all of the grief I was feeling.  Now, I'm able to have a solid job that only takes people who have college degrees.  I am SOOO THANKFUL that I stuck it out...you will be too!!  Having a degree really pays off and helps you find a job.  Keep doing your best, try to live in the moment because once you start thinking about how much you have left that's when it can get hard.  Count your blessings!!  Good luck!

  2. Talk about it im so stressed  school starts in a week.

I think we have all felt that way before

But remember it pays off in the end

  3. YES! I know just how you feel!

  4. I'm going into 10th grade, and believe me, I feel your pain.  Sitting around listening to a bunch of c**p that you'll never use for 45 minutes at a time almost every day is agony.  But remember this: college will be much better than high school, because you're taking what you want to be taking, plus you have your own place to stay, and you get more time off.  And also remember: everyone- your parents, you, your friends, and your future kids (hopefully) will all have done or will have to do this at some point or another in their life.  Everyone will have experienced this, and all you can really do about it is just get through it the best you can.  So hang in there.  Just a few more years!

  5. welcome to life

just stick it through and think about your future and not now!

  7. You might want to read a book called Accelerated Distance Education. There are other ways to get a degree. It's available at the public library.

  8. too bad your not american

  9. i get what you mean about the monotony of school, im going to college soon and the thought of more classes isnt exactly thrilling. try to look at it as a place to meet new people and break out of your old rut.

  10. Yes, I did felt exactly the same way. So your feeling is not unusual one. I was a straight A student for all my school years, gave so much to homeworks and school activities for all those years & made myself so sick of school. I hated going back to college after I graduated the high school. As a result I lost 3 years just doing things not just good enough career wise (waitress, sales clerk, tailor and etc.,) and listening to orders from the people who were "better educated" than me. That drove me nuts. So I went back to school and excelled in everything, got my degree and got a good job with good pay. So it really depends on how you're really feel about your life and how you see your future. You may want to put your college off one year and see what's your survival rate without the college degree in real life. Or you just might as well  do the college thing and progress your life when you're young. Seriously you must understand that life itself is an endless learning process. If you want to live better and have a better paid job, you should have skills to  help you to forward your career. Life is really rats' race. In that race where you want to be depends on you lots.

Most important thing is you will live with the results of your choices and decisions. So think twice before making any significant decision.

You have the right to make decision that's what's right for you.

  11. yea i did and then i dropped out of college, worked and then realized I would never be taken seriously until I had a piece of paper saying I spent 100 grand to better myself.

more and more companies will not give you a chance without a degree.

Just stick with it, have fun and learn what you can while you can, it will pay off in the long run. You will be taken more seriously in the job world with a degree than without out.

I realized the second time around it was the right move and hung with it.
