School has started! How can I be more social?!?

School has started and I have lunch with NONE of my close bffs! I have lunch with a whole bunch of seniors and juniors and some popular 10th graders- who I all by refuse to sit next to unless I want my head ripped off by humiliation!!! I sit right now mext to a bunch of girls ( whoa re very sweet but kinda lame and losers) which is ruining by social status even more! how can i socialize with the junios and seniors?!?

youre an a**hole if youd rather be friends with a bunch of ignorant b*stards then people who are actually nice to you and care about you.  What if someone used you and you thought they were your friend, then they left you and it turned out they just used you so they wouldnt look like a COMPLETE loser or loner?  Be friends with the nice people.

....although if you wanna socialize with the "popular" kids (which popular is just an illusion, the "popular" kids are just the ones that are noticed more), then you could start being a s**t and youd fit right in lol

btw you dont become popular just because you want to.  you have to have the right style, and being passive and politely asking if you can sit there is going to get you a one way ticket to a different table.  also some were just destined to be popular and others werent.  yeah life isnt fair, get used to it!

just go up to them and be like "hey can i sit here?" or try talking to them in your classes. i hope this helps :)

the same exact thing is happening with me right now, im in 7th grade and like i dont have lunch with my friends!

i have lunch with the more popular 7th graders and i dont want to be made fun to, so i end up sitting w/ a few 7th graders and 6th graders! social life, down the drain!

If i were you i would go over to the juniors and/or seniors and just ask if u can sit with them, if their nice, the'll say yes, once u sit with them, just stay cool and be yourself.

i need to learn to take my own advice... lol! ;)

ask if you can sit with them, if they say yes listen really closely to what they are talking about and try and jump in every once in a while

Just start talking to them and ask if you can sit with them after a while. Oh and by the way, who cares about social status? It's high school, you will be out of there too and realise how shallow the whole thing is. be friends with people you feel comfortable with and you like. If they are sweet, who cares if they are lame?
