Question:

School holidays UK?

Can anyone tell me if there are and school holidays between the end of May and start of June?

I am planning my 2009 holiday and need to know when kids are off.

I know it varies all over the UK but a rough idea would do.

Thanks.

  1. I'm 17, my birthday is the end of May and there's a week then with them going back in the first week of June I think (I was always off on my birthday)

  2. The dates for the academic year are set by your local council, if you go to their website you should be able to find the term dates for the coming academic year (2008 - 2009)

  3. The UK is England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland,

Are you one of those people who only calls England, the UK?

  4. Last weekend in May are Scottish holidays in some regions. Then Scottish school break up last week in June. That's when the price rises start.

  5. Most council websites will have a page about term dates. By this part of the year, they should list next year's too.

Without knowing where you're from, I can't give you an exact answer, but for Manchester, the dates are 25 May 2009 to 29 May 2009

  6. Half term is usually the last week of May.
