School newspaper?

Hi

A group of friends and I are planning on starting a school newspaper (for next year). Except we're pretty much on our own and we don't know much about the format and the "art" of a newspaper.

If anyone know of any programs we could use for a newspaper layout, your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why don't you contact an editor at your local newspaper, and explain to him/her what it is you are doing, and ask if they would meet with your committee, and help you with a few pointers?
