  1. Greece, seussical, Oklahoma -- i did those 3 at my school they were a lot of fun :)

  2. How about Civil War? It's a very good musical on slavery. It's very sad but really good.

  3. From the list above, looks like you are interested in a musical.  If you are looking for a fun play, however, I recommend "One & All".  This play is hysterical!! Here is some  info on it:

  4. I love the musical Rent. That could be a great idea. It's a great musical about living life to the fullest, and it has beautiful music.

  5. Certainly "some" valid suggestions, and not knowing an age range/grade level in the school, I suggest you had to adapt those to be age appropriate in some cases.

Obviously NONE you suggest are strictly youth appropriate unless modified, other than OZ.

ANY of the proliferation of pieces themed at School situations, Urban situations, would work. I have to wonder however, about you or someone, securing the rights???

With no offense to one answer, I see no redeeming value in schools doing SWEENEY.

What you produce and present will also depend on the body of "actors" available to participate. Obviously to do G&D or Chicago takes a large cast.

  6. you should try Little Shop Of horrors,

    applause,

    Lucky Stiff

    les mis

  7. you should do Grease!!!

  8. Seussical- It is a fairly large show but it is very good for regional shows and school shows. Music man would be good too. Anything like Annie or even something not quite so know would be good too. Good luck!

  9. Sweeney Todd.

  10. high school musical :P

    annie

  11. What size cast are you looking at?  What kind of dance and vocal ability do you have to work with?  Do you have a lot of male performers?  Do you have a big, medium or small budget?

    West Side Story

Into The Woods (possibly the Jr. version)

    Seussical

    Les Miserables (School Edition)

High School Musical (not my fave but people will come to see it)

    Anything Goes

    Thoroughly Modern Millie

There are so many, it just depends on if your students can tap dance, if they can sing well, if you have male participation, etc.

    good luck!

    Marianne

  12. hairspray, bye bye birdie, footloose, once upon a matress, sussical, oklahoma, annie, the sound of music.

  13. Grease, High School Musical, Charlie and the chocolate factory
