  3. While becoming a chemisty might help, brewing is an art you learn at a brewery or at home with a home brew kit.

  4. Apprentice with a master at a microbrewery. Study your chemistry, microbiology, math and botany. You are going to need it. Remember, practice makes perfect and the supplies you need are readily available online or at some liquor stores. Just be over 21 and don't imbibe too much of your own product. A good beer is a glorious thing. A shriveled liver is not.

    PS With the popularity of micro brews and the world wide consumption of beer being what it is, Sal is wrong about this being a good hobby or career. It is educational, economical and potentially lucrative.
