School sports?

I'm about to start 8th grade and we're going to be playing same sports as we did in 7th grade i already hated playing in 7th grade because I'm lazy and I suck but now we have to play them again and i don't like their sports is there anyway for me to try my best in school sports? I hate playing hockey and stuff
