  1. Before you leave the house and I can not stress it more DO SOMETHING RELAXING NOT SOMETHING THAT WILL STRESS YOU OUT MORE!  Then while you're going to whever you need to go take slow deep breaths until you arrive to your destination.  Hope God keeps you very close to him in this time of your life.

  2. Don't expect to be calm. If you were totally calm about it, it'd mean you didn't care about it and that's not the way to go.

Just accept that it's normal to be nervous and you won't feel so nervous.

btw, I got butterflies in my stomach for the first day of every single year of schooling, including university. :)

  3. I was in 7th grade 2 years ago. Honestly, 7th grade was the best year of my life!! Just make sure you relax, and be confident! You will have a great time. If you get lost, and don't know where your classes are, don't worry 99% of the other students will be completelly lost as well. And don't be afraid to ask a teacher where a class is if you get lost. They are there to help. Trust me, you will have a GREAT year!! Good luck, and no worries! :)

  4. Since your mom is your teacher, you need to talk to her about this and review your curriculum choices. If the butterflies are about skipping up a grade in math, ask her about it. Maybe you just need some encouragement. I'm sure your mom would not have made the decision to move you up unless she thought you could handle it.

As far as the communion and s*x ed classes, well, maybe your mom has butterflies in her stomach too.

You guys just need to talk.

A homeschool student should never be nervous about school starting. never.

  5. Regardless of what you think, physical activity can help you to calm down. Do some running, jogging, playing, on a regular basis and you will not have all that excess energy that helps to cause anxiety or "butterflies."

Also, check on natural sources for B vitamins. B complex & B vitamins are nutrients necessary for helping your body be less anxious. Look those up and include them in your diet on a regular basis to become calmer.

  6. -Picture yourself having a good time at school. If you want to succeed in a given situation, you have to want it, feel it, and see it. Positive visualization is key. It will become a reality if you tell yourself you can do it.

-To settle your nerves, do a few math problems. Sometimes being prepared can make you feel at ease.

-Try to make friends in your classes.

  7. first, i don't think there's any reason to fright..... these are the things you cannot aviod, right? then i advice you should be yourself (dats 'majorly' important) and accept things the way the come......

    all d best!!

  8. Close your eyes and pay attention to nothing but your breath for 10 minutes. Breathe deeply and relax, shutting everything else out. It will be difficult and your mind will wander, but force it back on your breath.

It will feel weird but it will relax you a lot. Don't think positive thoughts; don't think negative thoughts... try to think about nothing except your breath!

  9. Smile a lot - it will make you seem more approachable. You'll make friends more easily this way. Say hi to people who approach you first. Try to make a friend the first few classes you have before lunch, and just ask them if you could sit with them during lunch. Say something like "Do you mind if I sit with you during lunch? I don't really know anyone else." or "Could you introduce me to anyone else?"

    SMILE A LOT.

About the 8th grade math thing - I skipped 7th grade math (Pre-Algebra) also and sitting with a bunch of 8th graders was pretty intimidating since I didn't really have a lot of self-confidence back then (although, I wasn't home-schooled.) But, remember to just smile a lot and say hello to your seat partner. If it doesn't work out, don't fret too much about it. It's 50 minutes and you'll be bored, but you're not jumping over an alligator-infested river. You'll manage.

s*x ed is more boring than embarassing. I was TA for the health class so I had to see the same videos five times, and again during high school.

During P.E., actually try to have fun playing - even if you're not athletic. You'll benefit from it. When you have to run your miles, actually run them. I didn't run my miles in middle school and now I regret it (I do high school sports now and I'm not as fast as I wish I was.)

To calm down: Middle school is pretty short. As long as you seem friendly, people will be friendly to you. And even if middle school seems intimidating, high school is actually way better. If you don't seem to like the people at your middle school, there will be way more people in high school to befriend - and in high school, everyone's friendly to eachother. I didn't like middle school much, but the thought of high school was pretty comforting, and high school really is great.

  10. Go do something relaxing, such as.

    Get off the computer

Get something to eat or drink

Go do something mindless like watch TV or get a video game to play

    Play with friends

You should calm down ,I'm going into ninth grade and have all sorts of **** to worry about. Your in the clear.

    ...or theres always pot

    lol

    But yeah, dont.

  11. When I was in 7th grade the kids laughed at me and I had no one to sit with at lunch...... Good Luck Tomorrow! :D
