  1. Im in Australia and went through school here - I just wish I knew what your A - level system is

OK just read the comment below me - Im in Victoria and there is an apparent difference between private and public school system - I went through the public system and my daughter is in the public system in Victoria and there are some good schools even in the public system you just have to pick and choose carefully however it is hard to get into public schools in a suburb that you are not living in but private schools cost literally thousands of dollars per semester or year - one school near me is Private and for a prep (1st year in primary school - just out of Kinder) for a prep they want $10,000.00 per year so as you get older I can only assume the fees get higher plus there is their uniform which on average is about $1500 per year per student and in comparrison my daughter is at a public school her uniform for the year cost me $250 and her yearly fees were $160 - at her age I dont see the point in paying many thousands of dollars when she can learn to read at either school - when she is older and if she has a special interest or tallent I would spend the money if the school she wanted to go to caters to her needs.

  2. Unfortunately I don't know what the A Level system is, but in Australia, well, NSW anyway, you have the School Certificate at the end of year 10 and the HSC- Higher School Certificate, at the end of year 12, if you decide to continue on to years 11 and 12 that is, because it's not mandatory.

  3. from my experence pretty crappy, although i hated school , it does vary depending on private or public , i went to a public school in new south wales , and my sons go to a public school in queensland but according to my brother in law who is a vice principal at a private school the best education institutes are in victoria, hope this helps
