  2. Costa Rica is pretty expensive in most parts because a lot of areas get a lot of tourists. But the exchange rate is 1 canadian dollar = 460.88 costa rican colones.

It is dry season in Costa Rica during the month of March and rain season begins in May. The weather will vary a little bit depending on which part of Costa Rica you travel to but they do not experience drastic weather changes since they are so close to the equator. It should be very nice in March. Check out the two sites I gave those should help you.

Have fun...I have been wanting to travel to Costa Rica for forever but haven't had the chance yet.

  3. Let me put it to you this way.

An American dollar is the equivalent to 517.92 Costa Rican Colones and a Canadian dollar is equivalent to 460.12 Costa Rican Conones based on April 20, 2006 current rate of exchange. - which fluctuates daily somewhat.

Which means basically that if something costs $1.00 American dollars there (like a bottle of Imperial Beer) you would have to pay  a tad more for it in Canadian money like about $1.25 cents Canadian + or -.

There are lots of good places to go shopping there as they have some very large malls - just like those that are in the States as well as Canada - and they have tons of "Tourist" shops that will dazzle you mind!

The weather depends on where you go in CR.  If you go around the San Jose area on the "Central Plain" the temperature never gets below 59 degrees or any hotter than about 86 degrees all year around.  Today it is in the mid seventies to low eighties in San Jose!

Weather all around the country is very enjoyable during March - this should not be a concern!

    VIVA LA PURA VIDA!

    Have a Great Trip!

  4. Well it depends on the rate of exchange which does change daily, the weather is up and down I'd say check history but no one can predict it, just hope for the best, do a zip line while your there and have fun

    =)

  5. 1 CAD = 462.21 Costa Rican Colones (CRC).

If you'd like to shop for Costa Rican handicrafts, you should plan visiting Plaza de la Cultura. It lies next to the National Theatre and Grand Hotel Costa Rica in the capital city San Jose. The Central Market has lots of unique and cheap products and is also located in San Jose.

Plaza del Sol is a shopping mall that is bigger in size, which lies five minutes east of San Jose, Curridabat. The Multiplaza Mega Mall is located west of Escazu and there are additional American styled shopping malls near the area as well. San Pedro is another giant shopping mall in San Jose, which is the largest story shopping mall in Latin America. You can check for more shopping areas on the link I've provided.

You should avoid visiting Costa Rica during March through May as it is quite humid and hot. The average annual temperature ranges between 21 to 27 degree celsius in Costa Rica. As the rainy season lasts between May till November, the best time for a visit would be in December until February when it is winter as the weather is pleasant in San Jose.
