School year in Malaysia?

I need to know about the school year for high schoolers in Malaysia! Do they usa a semester, trimester, etc. system? When does each semester/term start and end, and when are the major holidays? THANKS!

One year two semesters, One semester two terms.

School starts in January, end middle of November.

Between these school days, they have a week of term breaks, and two weeks of mid-year break.

In additional to the above two answers, be prepared for slight changes/amendments....   There are also slight differences between the states of Malaysia...

upcoming is final holiday 14 NOV 08 till 3 JAN 09...

others holiday is public holiday such as festival(Aidilfitri/deepavali/etc)

but is depends on which state you are schooling..
